St. Roch's Stations of the Cross
A plaque at the first station reads: "Pray for the donors Mr and Mrs Daniel McCairns"
The stations were donated at the time of the building of St Roch's which took place in 1907.
The donors owned a piggery in Germiston located where the school now stands. They were well to do and very kind to their neighbours and to the parish of St Roch's.
1st Station - Jesus is Condemned to death
2nd Station - Jesus takes up his cross
3rd Station - Jesus falls the first time
4th Station - Jesus meets his Mother
5th Station - Jesus is helped by Simon of Cyrene
6th Station - Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
7th Station - Jesus falls the second time
8th Station - the women of Jerusalem weep for Jesus
9th Station - Jesus falls the third time
10th Station - Jesus is stripped of his garments
11th Station - Jesus is nailed to the cross
12th Station - Jesus dies on the cross
13th Station - Jesus is laid in the arms of his Mother
14th Station - Jesus is laid in the tomb
